Business Excellence

Our Business Excellence process involves a simple analysis of the organization's business dynamics and whether these are in balance.

When business structures that have evolved over time become no longer sufficient for the tasks of the present - the first stages of growth decline occur.

Organization's at this stage will feel the tension this causes. Many of the things that are familiar will no longer be working in a familiar way. Because management will feel they are doing things the way they are meant to be done, there will be no reason for change. However, everyone knows something is not right. The organization actually begins working against itself.

While the answer to the problem may be presented in terms of new IT systems, quality programs, a culture of compliance, increased funding or in cost leadership - the reality is that success lies in all of these... and none of them.

What will be missing is an understanding of the equilibrium required in the underlying business dynamics before the organisation can proceed with more growth.

Further unplanned and ad hoc change at this stage, without understanding these dynamics, can be disastrous. Doing something to fix surface problems can compound the difficulties. The out of balance system gets thrown further out by the next change.

Organizations that become our Business Excellence clients will often have tried to fix, or outlast, the problem first. When realizing they are too close to the problem to see the complete solution, but are an integral part of that solution - they feel ready to begin.

The integral approach is about an economy of effort in an expanded understanding of what is actually going on. Often only minor changes are required. By seeing the system dynamics first - decisions can then be made on the small changes that will have a significant impact, with great benefit. This itself is a huge insight for the organisation and vital for its plans for the future.

Once any needed changes are identified and made - the out-of-balance parts of the organisation come back together to form a new equilibrium providing clarity in a truly sustainable business model that will support the next stages of growth.
